My Year as a Baby Reb

My first year of college is over *mind blown*. I am happy to report that it was the best 9 months of my life. Here are some highlights in case you missed out on all the fun:

As I wave good bye to Pittman 109 and my freshman year, I have some things I would like to say before I go.

To the people I met this year:

Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but now your part of my family, so come visit Texas maybe. Seriously though, Dev, Cat, Lindsey, Clare, Jack, Tyler, Thomas, Noah, Cole, Alex, Kelsey, Katherine, Tori, Michaela, Virginia, Mai, and literally everyone else that impacted my year, mi casa es su casa. I know for a fact that I would have fallen apart without y’all, so I am very thankful that you were always there to put up with my crazy. I cannot wait to see where the next couple years take us.

To my professors (I’m sure none of y’all read my blog, but hey it’s the thought that counts):

You pushed me out of my comfort zone again and again and again. Each class was not just a textbook lecture, but a unique learning experience that I am sure will stick with me. Except Bisc 104, that was just the longest, most boring 50 minute lecture of my life, and don’t even get me started on how I felt about that lab. Anyways, cheers to no more science courses! *clinks glass of sweet tea* Shoutout to Art History 202, Psychology 201 and Business Law for being my favorite classes this year.

To the beautiful residents of Pittman Hall:

While I may not know every single one of you, or honestly more than a dozen of you, you truly shaped my freshman experience. I would like to give the girls on the 1st floor an award for being the quietest dorm floor in college history, you made all those A’s possible. The Pitt will forever be lit thanks to the HoCo Class of 2021. And while I didn’t officially live there, I would like to give a special thanks to Crosby, specifically rooms 612 and 613, for letting me sneak in to hangout and sleep on the floor.

To the city of Oxford:

I have fallen into the Velvet Ditch and I don’t have plans to leave anytime soon. You are truly my home away from home. I will miss your world class food and your quaint, drop dead gorgeous town square greatly over the summer. August 12 will be here before we know it.

To the Connor who started college last August:

Look honey, you did it! You more than just survived your first year, you thrived at it. Trust your instincts, just like you did when you chose Ole Miss. Promise me that you will never doubt your ability to be great ever again. In the short time you have been here you have grown so so so much as a person and I truly believe you are on the path you always dreamt of being on. So keep on keeping on gal pal, your future is bright.

And finally, to the Flagship herself, Ole Miss:

Ma’am, you are truly a magical place. If the next three years are anything like this first one, man oh man am I in for the best ride of my life. Hotty Toddy!
