If you have ever met a sorority girl, you know how perfect their little is (my little is somewhere kicking senior year’s butt so she can hurry up and get to Ole Miss) and how their big is like their best friend who is also their mom, but not a regular mom, a cool mom (shoutout to Kelsey for being the coolest mom in the game). There is something magical about the bond that can form between two girls, one being younger (the little) and the other being slightly older (the big). Are they best friends? Are they sisters? Are they the perfect mother/daughter duo? Yes, yes and yes.
Long before I knew anything about Greek Life, I found a little of my own. She was a freshman, I was a sophomore, and, as fate would have it, we were in the same homeroom and played the same sport. Shelby is my best friend, my little sister, my daughter, my favorite golf course Snapchat karaoke buddy, my go-to volunteer at 4 A.M. gal pal, and my literal person. There is no one that can make me smile or laugh as much as this girl. We have been by each other’s side for everything you can think of: break ups, proms, ER visits, road trips, many many many golf tournaments, the best and worst days of our lives. I don’t think there is anything this world can throw at us that we can’t conquer together.
Today, my little becomes an adult and I don’t think either of us are mentally prepared. It seems like just yesterday you were a little St. Philomena fish on the driving range and now you can legally buy spray paint. Shelby, I may have only known you for four years, but in that short time I have seen you blossom into a beautiful, confident, sassy young lady. I can’t imagine going through life without you by my side. This is just the beginning my love! Wherever you go in life, know that I am always here for you when you need a best friend/big sister/mama Connor. I love you to Ole Miss and back!
In honor of your 18th birthday, I have complied 18 photos that perfectly describe us!
